Sip & Draw at The Haunted Bookshop - Ancient Goddesses and Legendary Women

Join us for another magical evening of creativity on Thursday, 20th August, in the wonderfully enchanting surroundings of The Haunted Bookshop, for a special Sip & Draw inspired by goddesses, mythical heroines and legendary women.

As part of 2026 — the National Year of Reading — we’re weaving together drawing and storytelling to celebrate the powerful female figures who have inspired stories, art and imagination across the ages.

From ancient goddesses and mythical heroines to fierce female legends, come and explore the stories, symbolism and strength behind some of history’s most captivating women. Let their power, beauty, resilience and mystery inspire your own artwork — creating something wonderful to take home with you.

Whether you’re an experienced artist or simply looking for a relaxing and unique evening out, this event is all about enjoying the creative process in good company. No artistic experience is needed — just bring your curiosity and imagination.

Surrounded by books, candlelight, magic and the extraordinary atmosphere of The Haunted Bookshop, you’ll celebrate the season through art, storytelling and conversation, with a touch of enchantment along the way.

Your ticket includes a complimentary glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage, and all drawing materials will be provided.

No drawing experience is required. Simply bring your curiosity for the natural and supernatural, your enthusiasm for drawing, and let your imagination flourish. If you have favourite materials or a sketchbook you’re comfortable using, you’re very welcome to bring them along too.

Entry requirements: 16+. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult aged 21+ on a 1:1 basis.
