Sip and Sew - Galentines

Grab your besties, pour a sip, and get crafty! Celebrate Galentine’s Day with a fun, relaxed sewing workshop where you’ll make your own stuffed heart pillow—the perfect cozy keepsake or gift for someone you love (including yourself!).

This beginner-friendly class will walk you through sewing basics like cutting fabric, stitching seams, and stuffing your pillow, all in a social, feel-good atmosphere. Whether you’re a seasoned sewer or totally new, this is all about creativity, connection, and a little self-love.

• Step-by-step instruction—no sewing experience needed
• All materials provided (or bring your own favorite fabric!)
• A fun, welcoming space to sip, sew, and celebrate friendship
• Take home your handmade heart pillow

About the Artist:
Fashions by Shida is a Lansdowne-based fashion brand, proudly operating out of Utility Works Lansdowne.

Rashida Osbourne is a graduate from Philadelphia University (renamed to Thomas Jefferson University), with a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Industry Management. Her passion for the art of fashion flourished in her childhood years. It wasn't until years after college she decided to listen to her family and pursue her dreams.

In 2014 Rashida was having a phone conversation with two women, who are strong influences in her life, when she expressed her dream of pursuring her passion. In just a few months that journey began. With an extraordinary team, some of the greatest opportunities flourished for Fashion by Shi'da. In June 2014, Fashion by Shi'da had a grand launch for her business idea.

Ages:

Recommended for ages 10+, with anyone age 10-13 welcome with an accompanying adult to supervise 1-on-1 for the duration of the class.

• Everyone is welcome at this workshop! You do not have to have a MakerSpace membership or any affiliation with Utility Works. These tickets are $20
• This Workshop is free to MakerSpace Equipment Members. If you are interested in a membership check out our membership page here.

• Street Parking is free.
• The Highland avenue parking lot behind Dunkin Doughnuts is also available for parking, if there is not closer street parking.
