(The PREREQUISITE for this class is Silversmithing Level 1 - Meet The Butane Torch or prior butane torch experience)
In this class students will learn safety and use of 3 versatile pieces of studio equipment. Learn to effectively anneal sheet metal and wire for textured patterned designs to incorporate into your jewelry designs using rolling mills. Create textured dimensional shapes using the mini hydraulic press. Students will also learn a variety of ways to reclaim and mill metal scraps into sheet and create ornaments with shot plates. These studio machines are a great way to add unique touches to your raw materials for more personalized design options. This class includes copper sheet and wire as practice metal and some silver scrap. If you want to mill and press in silver please bring your own to class. This is a prerequisite class and is required for using rolling mills and the mini hydraulic press at NW Rockhounds
There is a supply kit fee made payable to the teacher day of class by cash or check. Please come prepared to pay this fee.
All other tools will be available for use.
