About this Event
To celebrate International Week of Deaf People, join RAD for Silent Breakfast – BSL taster experience, an interactive morning exploring communication and British Sign Language (BSL).
Could you order your morning coffee without saying a word?
Start your day with a challenge as you navigate breakfast without using spoken conversation. You’ll explore different ways to communicate, discover how much we rely on sound and speech in everyday situations, and experience communication from a different perspective.
You’ll then learn some BSL and have the chance to put what you’ve learned into practice.
Same breakfast. A completely different conversation.
No previous knowledge of BSL is needed — this session is designed to be welcoming, informal and fun.
What to expect:

- A chance to explore visual communication
- An opportunity to challenge how you think about everyday communication
- A relaxed and inclusive environment
- No previous BSL experience required
Tickets and donations
Tickets are available with a minimum £1 donation to support RAD’s work with Deaf people and communities..
Places are limited, so if you book and later find that you can’t attend, please cancel your ticket. This means we can offer your place to someone else and help as many people as possible take part.
Every donation, however big or small, helps RAD continue our work supporting Deaf people and celebrating Deaf culture and community.
