Silent Book Club of Death LA - July 2024

In partnership with Heavenly Mist Death Doula, Be Present Care, and The Death Deck, Death Project Manager presents: Silent Book Club of Death on July 27th! This month, we're doing a bookish picnic at the Korean Friendship Bell!

Like book clubs, but want to read your own book?

Want to reflect on your mortality in the company of polite bookworms?

Looking for an anti-social social club, where you can meet people then politely ignore them?

Come read and mingle with new, bookish friends at Silent Book Club of Death! Bring whatever book you happen to be reading - related to the theme of death / mortality - to read in companionable silence, then share out about it with your table mates.

Even if you choose not to read a death-themed book and just want to read quietly in a death positive space, come join us!

Not sure what to read? We will have a stack of books you can browse for inspiration.

As this event will be outdoors, make sure to bring a hat, water, and sunscreen, in addition to your book and picnic blanket!

We hope you will join us at the Korean Friendship Bell and dedicate some time to reading and reflection!

Schedule:

Meet and chat until 9:30AM

Silent reading 9:30 - 10:30

Chat about reading 10:30 - 11AM
