About this Event
Mishima - Ceramic Pottery Class
All sales are final - no refunds
5hrs, $235 per ticket, 12 seats - no prior experience necessary for this ceramic pottery class!
Welcome to the private home studio of Two Faced Ceramics where you will learn how to make your very own dish and then finish it with the exciting technique of Mishima! This class will be lead in collaboration with the talented Emi Skye, who will guide students in this exciting workshop!
Mishima is the technique of carving designs or patterns into clay and then inlaying colored slip into your etchings. This technique provides a versatile and beautiful finish for your ceramic pieces, and is excellent for the beginner or experienced potter alike!
Students will make their ceramic dishes while learning introductory slab-building pottery techniques. No experience necessary, this pottery class is fun for all levels! Get your hands dirty and play with clay ceramic pottery class- perfect for date night or a fun night with friends, BYOB welcomed and encouraged!
Please arrive 15min early and give yourself time to park, parking is a bit challenging at this location (crowded residential). We recommend parking on Gower St. along Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
Students are encouraged to bring design patterns of their choice, but a flash sheet of designs will also be provided. If you want to trace your designs, please bring them printed on paper so you can cut out and trace them onto your ceramic piece.
Please bring a packed lunch!
There are two studio cats - please email me if you want/need them to be put away for class!
Students will have the choice between six ceramic glaze finishes for their ceramic pottery pieces: matte white, matte dark aqua, or glossy cosmic opal, sea grass green, pink ice or periwinkle blue.
Your ceramic pottery pieces will be available for pick up 5 weeks after class; shipping options available for an additional fee.
All ceramics and pottery materials provided, but feel free to bring a sketchbook and inspo ideas! Please wear studio clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
BYOB!
