EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Have you ever been to a book launch cabaret? Neither have we!
Straight from her sold-out show in NYC, join artist Katie Horwitch as she makes her West Coast solo debut and author debut at the same time to celebrate the release of her book WANT YOUR SELF: Shift Your Self-Talk & Unearth The Strength In Who You Were All Along.
Featuring a hefty dose of pop, musical theatre, and ‘90s deep cuts, Katie combines her signature style of ease, humor, and inclusivity — along with her willingness to dive deep, get honest, and lead by example — to guide you through the journey of shifting your self-talk in a real, lasting way.
Completely reimagining what a book launch is “supposed to” look like, WANT YOUR SELF: A Book Launch Cabaret is a joyful and empowering call to action for anyone who wants to change the world—and is willing to do the not-easy-but-oh-so-right work of changing their own world first.
Tickets start at $28.50. A book is included with every ticket purchase.
Music Direction: Paul Peglar
Book Publisher: Sounds True

ABOUT KATIE HORWITCH:
Katie Horwitch is a nationally recognized writer, speaker, mindset coach, and self-talk activist who has spent almost two decades working to shift the cultural self-talk paradigm. She has spoken across the country about self-confidence, living fearlessly, and shifting the stories and habits that help shape our negative self-talk patterns.
Katie is the founder of the multimedia platform WANT: Women Against Negative Talk and the host of long-running podcast The WANTcast: The Women Against Negative Talk Podcast. She has been featured by SXSW, NBC News Daily, KTLA, Lululemon, The Cut, and more, has coached some of the world’s most prominent brands and leaders on building confidence and creating impact, and has been praised by CNN as a “woman empowering others around the world.”
As an actor and performer, Katie has been seen on network TV and feature films, as well as on stages both regionally and Off-Broadway. Some of her favorite credits include TV/Film: "Valentine's Day," "Dexter," Regional/Off-Broadway: A Little Night Music (South Coast Rep), Grease (Avalon Casino), No Strings (Reprise! Los Angeles), Picture Perfect (York Theater), Sunday In The Park With George (Irvine Barclay Theater). This all feels very much like a past life to Katie, so after a sold-out run at NYC’s iconic cabaret venue The Green Room 42, she is thrilled to be back home onstage in Los Angeles after a long hiatus.
Katie's first book, WANT YOUR SELF: Shift Your Self-Talk and Unearth The Strength In Who You Were All Along (published by Sounds True) is a wise, compassionate, and pragmatic guide for changing your self-talk at the deepest level, so you can move forward fearlessly into the life you were meant to live.
She believes that shifting the story you tell yourself, about your Self, is an essential part of shaping the world you actually want to live in — and is more important now than ever before.
