About this Event

The Sickle Cell Cause Peer to Peer Action & Support Group recognises the shoulders of those who we stand upon and will always highlight the vital works done for us to live empowered sickle lives today.

Dr Neville Roy Clare, Jamaican born male, and Sickle Cell Patient initiated and diligently pursued Sickle Cell Support and Research in the UK and Europe from the early 1970'

Whilst living in Britain with this debilitating dis-ease, Neville Clare advocated for his own and other patient's needs. He Vessel'd the warriors voice and created the blueprint, the path from which all Sickle Cell Support and Research organisations have been built from.

After decades of dedication he wrote his Autobiography, leaving his Legacy available for us all to read and learn from, to appreciate and honour.

So, join us as we begin the journey together reading and discussing the autobiography ~ An OSCAR for my Troubles by Dr Neville Roy Clare MA PhD

Every 2nd Monday of the Month, 2pm-4pm as of Monday 13th May 2024

A minimum donation of £2 will be required on the day.

Please arrive at least 15mins early (by 1:45pm) to allow yourself time to get settled-in and comfortable.

Light refreshments and hot drinks will be provided throughout the session.

The book ‘An OSCAR for my Troubles’ by Dr Neville Roy Clare MA PhD is currently unavailable in stores but can be purchased from the Sickle Cell Cause via the George Marsh Centre for £25 per copy.

We look forward to welcoming you.
