Shumei SF Monthly Sampai

Monthly Sampai services are held on the second or the third Sunday of each month at 10:45 AM. Arrive at least 10 minutes early to be seated in the Sanctuary. If it's your first time, arriving an hour early for a video and background information can enhance your experience.

We begin with bowing, clapping, and chanting the Amatsunorito, an ancient Shinto prayer. The vibrations of the chant bring peace, happiness, and purification. We also chant the Zengensanji, a prayer assembled by Shumei's founder to create an ideal world. After chanting, Jyorei is offered to those interested.

After the service, enjoy a hot lunch with Natural Agriculture ingredients. There is no fee, but donations are appreciated. It's a social occasion to interact with staff and other attendees. Young children may not find it suitable. Monthly Sampai is a great time to visit Shumei in San Francisco.
