Tahlequah Community Playhouse's Penguin Project presents Shrek Jr., music by Jeanine Tesori, book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, based on the DreamWorks Animation film and the book by William Steig, and directed by Vanessa Farrow. The Penguin Project is a unique and memorable experience you won't want to miss! A group of youths take to the stage to perform a modified version of a well-known Broadway musical. All the roles are filled by young artists with developmental disabilities and are joined on stage by a dedicated group of peer mentors. The Penguin Project empowers children with special needs through theatre by providing a supportive environment to explore their creative talents.
Admission is free for this event, donations are gratefully accepted. There are two performances, on May 29th at 7:00pm & May 30th at 2:00pm at the Tahlequah Public Schools Performing Arts Center, 591 Pendleton Street. Please come, bring your friends and family, and support our incredible cast!
