Once again back from the dead, we are bringing our Garbage Day series- a celebration of notorious "so bad it's good" cult classics- to the historic Babcock Theatre for a special screening of Paul Verhoeven's crazy 1995 dance drama, SHOWGIRLS, in celebration of the film's 30th anniversary! From the man who made Robocop, Total Recall, and Starship Troopers (huh??), Paul tries his hand at the world of competitive strip-dancing with incredibly polarizing results! Existing in a strange disconnected world of its own, SHOWGIRLS is a truly different film straight out of left field, filled to the brim with questionable choices and a frenetic energy throughout.
