Shorelines Survey and Beach Clean - Scarborough North Bay
Advertisement
Lend a hand for nature and join us in a beach clean at Scarborough. Eyes to the ground, we will also discover secrets in the strandline.
Suitable for both beginners and those who have taken part in litter picks before, participants will contribute directly to coastal conservation action with REConnect.
Whilst we take a leisurely stroll to collect as much beach litter as possible, we will also keep our eyes peeled for curious creatures and other natural items washed up along the strandline. Whether it's seaweed, shells or even a shark egg... who knows what treasures could be lying in wait to be discovered.
Delivered by Yorkshire Marine Nature Partnership and the SEALife Centre, you will enjoy a gentle introduction into social action and marine survey techniques helping us search and record along the shoreline at Scarborough North Bay.
The activities will be fully supported and all equipment will be provided. We will be learning together as we go, so it is an ideal first step for those those wanting to explore coastal wildlife, and anyone wanting to support conservation action along the coast - you will also find out about other opportunities for you to get involved in too!
This event is family friendly, but please be aware that no dogs are permitted on North Bay Beach at this time of year.
Close toes shoes are recommended for beach cleaning activities. We don't know what will be washed up and want to keep all participants safe. It is advised to wear walking boots, wellies or trainers to protect your toes.
