Shoden" directly translates to "first teachings" in Japanese. This is the beginner level one of Reiki training, where students learn the core principles and hand positions for self-healing. During a Shoden Reiki course, students receive attunements (energy transmissions) from their teacher to activate their ability to channel Reiki energy.
