Shiv and the Carvers + Ruby Doom + Miracle Fraud at Sonic Hall
SHIV & THE CARVERS WITH GUESTS RUBY DOOM AND MIRACLE FRAUD — LIVE AT SONIC HALL!
Initially a solo project for Shiv, Shiv and the Carvers has evolved into a collaborative powerhouse, blending fierce hooks with thought-provoking lyrics on themes of sex, politics, culture, and identity. Their sound, forged in the punk-rich roller derby environment, pays homage to influences like The Donnas, Hole, and The Buzzcocks. Incubated in the dusty warehouses of Toronto’s roller derby scene, Shiv and the Carvers have blasted their brand of roaring, queer punk rock in and around their hometown since 2022. Led by the lovable and explosive energy of vocalist Shiv Scott, guitarist Nicole Maxwell, bassist Annie Jane Marie, and drummer Mike Wiznuk yearn to make the listener yell, dance, mosh, shake, and think critically. Having performed with UK’s highly acclaimed political punks Lambrini Girls, selected to play Project Nowhere by Toronto tastemakers, and handpicked by Bif Naked to join her official CMW showcase, Shiv and the Carvers have become a staple in the city’s punk scene as they continue to build their live reputation brick by brick.

Ruby Doom is a low-risk high-reward, DIY girl punk three-piece from Brantford. Come along for the ride, we don't judge and we don't take ourselves too seriously. The band consists of Cadence, Lauren and Dani who are all multi-media artists with overflowing amounts of drive and passion for their community. Plus they're all best friends. Since Ruby Doom's inception in December 2022, they have been busy writing and recording songs, along with playing numerous live shows across Southern Ontario. Their high intensity, sweaty and captivating sets have lead them to proudly share the stage with the likes of METZ, By Divine Right, Shotgun Jimmie, GIZMO, Captain Wildchild, and Bonnie Trash.

Mixing sounds of jangle pop, twee punk, and psychedelia, Miracle Fraud draws on bands like The Clean, Shop Assistants, Tiger Trap, The Vaselines, and aspects of the Paisley Underground.
