Free outdoor night market - food, music, vendors, optional drink after.

This is the easy summer social event. No assigned reading. No deep theory. No "please arrive having formed a position." Just food trucks, live music, vendors, the North Van waterfront, and a reason to get out of your apartment on a Friday.

The Shipyards Night Market runs every Friday through the summer, and the first night feels like a good one to test as a group. It has food trucks, artisan vendors, live music, DJs, a beer garden, and that nice "the city is doing something" energy.

This one is perfect for people who want a lighter Curiosity Club night: still social, still intentional, but not a seminar.

The plan

We'll meet near Shipbuilder's Square around 4:30 PM because the market itself recommends arriving then to beat food truck lines and get ahead of the rush. We'll grab food, wander a bit, check out vendors, listen to music, and if the group feels like it, find a spot for a drink / chat later.

This is not a tight military formation. It's a small group outing. We'll start together, then keep it flexible.

Small note

The market runs Fridays from 3–10 PM, May 22–Sept 11, 2026. It has free entry, food trucks, artisan vendors, live music, DJs, and a beer garden. The FAQ says music starts at 3 PM, the opening act is usually at 5 PM, the main act around 7 PM, and recommends arriving around 4:30 PM to avoid lines. (Shipyards Night Market)
