Join NAMI Southwest Washington and event partner NWCAVE for the Shine the Light Mental Health Awareness Summit on October 10 from 11:00am to 4:00pm in Gaiser Hall at Clark College. Registration is appreciated, but not required.
This inspiring community event will bring together individuals, families, advocates, professionals, and community members for an afternoon dedicated to mental health education, awareness, and connection. Whether you are looking to learn more about mental health, support someone you care about, or discover resources available in our community, this summit offers an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations and gain valuable tools.
The event will feature presentations from two of NAMI's impactful educational programs, Ending the Silence, which helps reduce stigma and increase understanding of mental health among young people, and CALM (Communicate, Assess, Listen, Mediate), a practical de-escalation training designed to help individuals respond effectively and compassionately when someone is experiencing a mental health crisis.
We are honored to partner with NWCAVE and to welcome Michelle Bart, President and Founder of NWCAVE, as the event emcee. Michelle's passion for community engagement and mental health advocacy will help guide a day focused on education, empowerment, and hope.
Together, we can shine a light on mental health, reduce stigma, and build a stronger, more supportive community for everyone.
