About this Event

Butterflies need our help now more than ever 🦋On Friday 7th August we invite you and your family to our farm to get involved with the Big Butterfly Count 2026

Please note that this is happening instead of our Wildlife & Wellbeing Walk

The Plan

We'll meet at our Events Barn at 9am. We'll spend approximately 2 hours walking around our farm finding sunny spots to carry out multiple Big Butterfly Counts. Each survey takes 15 minutes. You'll be given the Big Butterfly Count's ID Guide and you'll spend 15 minutes counting butterflies at each stop.

At 11am, we'll head back to our Events Barn for tea, coffee and cake (served at a cost).

The Big Butterfly Count App

The easiest way to count the butterflies is via the FREE Big Butterfly Count App. Count while out and about watching butterflies. Available for iOS and Android. Search 'Big Butterfly Count' in your app store.

To Bring

1. A mobile phone with the Big Butterfly Count App installed (you will need to register for an account)
2. Sturdy footwear (we'll be walking to a few of our fields with uneven terrain)
3. Sun protection (i.e. sun cream & sun hat)
4. Water (for everyone in your group)
5. Enthusiasm for butterflies and insects!

If you do not have a compatible phone or wish to not download the app, we can provide paper to carry out your survey.
