Join us at the farm to learn all about shiitake mushrooms and take home your own mushroom log! We'll start with a short talk going over basic mushroom biology, cultivation, and use. Then, we'll tackle all your fungi-pertinent questions and walk through two low-tech methods for growing gourmet mushrooms at home. Each participant will practice these methods and inoculate a mushroom log to take home. If all goes well, your log will begin fruiting in 6-12 months, and you'll be able to harvest shiitakes off of it for years to come! We provide all materials and tools.
