About this Event

As part of Singapore HeritageFest 2026, the Singapore Maritime Gallery will host a series of public talks and guided tours, in line with this year’s theme of Maritime Heritage.

This exclusive programme starts off with a tour of the Singapore Maritime Gallery, and then offers participants rare access to PSA Singapore’s restricted terminals via a windshield bus tour, providing an insider’s look at the evolution of port operations.

The tour highlights Singapore’s transformation from a nascent transshipment hub to a global leader in maritime technology and innovation. With an expert guide from PSA Singapore, participants will gain insights into Singapore's rich maritime heritage and the cutting-edge advancements shaping the port today. As 80% of the world’s trade is carried by sea, the programme showcases how Singapore has positioned itself as a crucial global maritime hub. Bring home an exclusive memento from PSA at the end of the bus tour!

Programme Outline:

  • Introduction to PSA and its terminals, and boarding of Bus

Continue your adventure on a bus, to learn about PSA’s legacy story, from its origins as the Port of Singapore Authority, establish, and operate Singapore’s port. In 1996, regulatory functions were transferred to MPA, allowing PSA Corporation Limited to focus on the commercial management of container terminals. In 2003, PSA International was formed, marking the beginning of cross-border expansion and innovation that solidified PSA’s role as a global maritime leader.

  • Windshield Bus Tour: City Terminals

Explore the City terminals where manual crane operations are still in use. Learn about the history of containerization and how our container port adapted to global trade demands in its early years.

  • Windshield Bus Tour: Pasir Panjang Terminals

Visit an advanced terminal and see how technology, like automated cranes, has transformed port operations. Discover how these advancements improve operational efficiency and sustainability, and enhance safety for workers.

  • Closing Remarks with Expert Guide from PSA International (15 minutes)

Conclude the tour with a recap of Singapore’s maritime journey and its ongoing innovations in port operations. Engage with the expert guide to learn more about the Tuas Ecosystem, including the fully-automated Tuas Port and its role in the future of the maritime industry.
