Shared Reading with Dorset libraries

Shared Reading groups are open to all and free to attend - our Reader Leaders bring stories and poems alive by reading aloud, with time to talk and reflect on the power of words.

Enjoy a shared, live experience where anyone can respond , sharing feelings, thoughts and memories inspired by the reading. Everyone experiences the text in their own way and the writing provides a shared language that can help us to understand ourselves – and others – better.

There is no need for you to read aloud or even say anything, it’s fine to just listen. We create a space where people feel at ease.

Our groups meet online each week, with different stories in each, join a group and come every week, or dip in and out - it's up to you.
