Event Description:

Connect with the wild beauty of Vancouver Island’s wildlife and coastline in this special artist event with painter Shannon McWhinney. Shannon will share new works, stories behind her paintings, and the moments of connection that inspire her vibrant depictions of West Coast wildlife.

From 2–3 PM, guests will enjoy an opening talk and live demo, where Shannon walks through key elements of her process — composition, underpainting, layered colour, expressive texture, and fine detail. From 3–5 PM, she continues with an “artist in action” session, offering an up‑close look at works in progress, answering questions, and sharing insights into how fleeting wildlife encounters become vivid, emotionally resonant art.
