Shamanic Healing Ceremony:
Shamanism and sound have been used throughout human history to help achieve healing and wellness. In this workshop, we will use modalities of sound and shamanism for healing and to help promote physical, emotional, psychological wellness and spiritual connection.
-Please bring: a pad for lying down, a light blanket, a pillow, eye covering, a water bottle, tissues, a journal or notebook and a pen, drawing paper (9x11 or 10x12) and crayons or pastels.
-Optional offering of cacao
A cacao ceremony is a spiritual ritual where participants consume a ceremonial-grade chocolate beverage to open their hearts, connect with themselves and others, and it promotes healing and well-being. This tradition has ancient roots in Mesoamerican cultures like the Maya and Aztecs, who considered cacao a sacred plant medicine. The experience can foster emotional release, spiritual connection, and a sense of community, aiming to balance the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of a person.
-Jonathan Chack has studied and facilitated various modalities of shamanism, music and expressive art therapies for the past 44 years. Jonathan began studying and working with the Mexican psychiatrist Dr. Salvador Roquet in 1981. Dr. Roquet used a multi- model approach which included psychotherapy, body/ mind somatic work, creative arts, along with his many years of working with Mexican indigenous healers. Jonathan has traveled to Mexico and Peru to work with Shaman of various tribes. In 1993, Jonathan received his master’s degree in counseling psychology. Jonathan is a licensed mental health counselor and has worked in various mental health settings in New England.
