Sgraffito Scent Bottle Workshop at Manchester Craft and Design Centre.
About this Event
From Manchester to the Mediterranean. Come and join artist Beverley Meyer in creating a Matisse inspired design using the Sgraffito technique on your very own clay scent bottle. Guided by Matisse inspired summer paper cut stencils, in this workshop you will develop your own designs and carve these into the surface of a pre-glazed bottle to reveal the clay underneath.
Choose from an Yves Klein blue bottle typical of the Mediterranean, or a terracotta bottle that hints back to Manchester's local clay and red bricks.
After the workshop the bottles will be taken away to be fired and can be collected two/three weeks later.
Your ticket includes:
- All tools, equipment and materials
- A pre-glazed scent bottle ready for you to design
- Kiln firing and fininshing of your scent bottle
- Expert guidance into the Sgraffito process onto clay
This workshop will take place in Space2, located on the ground floor of Manchester Craft and Design Centre.
Suitable for ages 16+. Those under 18 should be accompanied by an adult.
