SFUPS 2026 Spiegel Grove Dive Day

Join SFUPS for an amazing two-tank wreck dive in the Florida Keys! The USS Spiegel Grove, a 510-foot retired U.S. Navy vessel, was intentionally sunk in 2002 to create an artificial reef. After more than two decades underwater, the ship has become encrusted with coral, algae, and sponges, providing habitat for an incredible variety of marine life, both large and small.
Don’t miss this opportunity to dive one of the world’s most famous artificial reefs while spending time with fellow SFUPS members in the beautiful Florida Keys. This trip is open to everyone and is a great chance to meet club members, especially if you’re considering joining the club.
To add to the fun, we will hold a ‘Day of’ Photo Contest for trip participants.
The winner will receive bragging rights and a prize!
Date: Saturday, June 27, 2026
Time: 12:15PM Check in at Dive Shop...1PM Departure at boat docks
Operator: @horizon.divers Key Largo, FL.
SFUPS Special Price: $75.25 (Trip & Tax) without tanks, $107.50 (Trip & Tax) if you are renting EANx tanks from Horizon.
Tanks/Nitrox(EANx): All rental tanks provided by Horizon are AL80s; steel tanks are not available for rent. If you require a steel tank, you will need to bring your own. Due to the depth of these dives, all divers will be required to use Nitrox on this trip.
Gratuity is NOT included! The captains and crew work extremely hard to keep us safe and give us a great day on the water, please treat them well.
DIVER REQUIREMENTS:
Due to the depth of this dive, all participants are required to have a PADI Advanced Open Water certification (or equivalent) as well as a Nitrox certification. DAN insurance is also strongly recommended.
