Sewing Through Stress: Let’s Sew A Fidget

Join Heart Comonos for our Healthy Minds Initiative with individual therapy, group therapy and art wellness sessions! These workshops are part of the Heart Comonos mission to promote emotional and spiritual wellness in Cooksville.

This is our first art wellness workshop with Arwen Muir Karaszewski.

Make your own sensory toy using hand sewing techniques and meditate with each stitch. This class will include an intention setting and affirmation to put inside of the sensory toy, which will be sewn using upcycled fabric and filled with dry rice.

Bring any fabric/clothes you want to upcycle, all materials will be provided

Meet the Facilitator, Arwen

Arwen Muir Karaszewski (she/they) is an artist and illustrator based in Mississauga who has always been in love with nature, teaching and learning.

Arwen practices sewing and mending, passionately teaching these skills with communities to extend the life-cycle of textiles, encourage creative expression, and build connection. We are all interconnected in this woven tapestry of life and we must work together with responsibility and listen to the heartbeat of the world, for us and the next generations. With a background in activism and arts, Arwen is excited to learn with others through the spirit of "Lartivism".
