About this Event
This half-day class is the perfect fit for you if you have just attended our Sewing Basics class, or have never used oven glove wadding before. It will teach you the basics of quilting and you will leave with a lovely festive pot holder to enjoy whilst making Christmas dinner!
We will teach you:
- How to thread your machine, top and bottom.
- How to balance your tensions.
- How to choose an appropriate stitch.
- Changing stitch length.
- How to use wadding
- Simple quilting techniques
- How to finish the edge with bias binding
All fabrics and thread are provided as it is important that the correct materials are used for safety. You will be able to choose 2 fat quarters of fabric to make your pot holder from when you arrive for your class.
You will feel comfortable using a machine so that we can make a Christmas pot holder together, by the end of the class.
This class is designed to help you gain the confidence you need to continue your sewing journey once you get home. Learning some of the basic rules of sewing will give you the best start to help you flourish in your new hobby.
