Join herbalist and horticulturist Mackenzie Laurin at Quietude for this hands-on seed starting masterclass, where we’ll dive into the science and practice of bringing medicinal and culinary seeds to life.🌿 What to Expect
In this 1-hour class, we’ll craft a perfectly balanced seed starting mix, and practice germination strategies- including stratification, scarification, and imbibition- that awaken seeds from even the toughest of dormancy. We'll go over low-waste planting methods, temperature and light requirements, proper watering techniques, managing damping off, natural pest management strategies (IPM), transplanting seedlings, and hardening off for resilient growth.
Students will leave with a tray of planted medicinal seeds, and a confident understanding of the processes and practices that support healthy, thriving seedlings.
Freshly brewed Ladybird tea will be on tap in the classroom for students to enjoy.
Tickets: $35/ person
Children under 12 attend for free, but must be accompanied by an adult.
