Sewing Machine Consultations - July 7
About this Event
Whether you're new to sewing and don't know how to use your machine or you have years of experience but your machine is acting strangely, this is for you! Join Adam and Amanda for a personal sewing machine consult. Each session will last 45 minutes.
Some things we can help you with:
- Get to know your sewing machine, such as demystifying the knobs, threading, winding bobbins, oiling / cleaning
- Fixing basic issues, such as thread tension, stubborn mechanics, stuck knobs
- Learn what needles / threads / stitches to use for different projects
- Learn about routine care and cleaning for your machine
What to bring:
- Your sewing machine
- Anything else that came with the machine, such as cords, manual, different feet, bobbins, tools, etc.
- (Optional) 1 spool of high-quality machine sewing thread such as Gutermann*
- (Optional) Additional bobbins matching your machine*
- (Optional) Any replacement parts if you already know what needs to be replaced (e.g. light bulb, etc...)*
- Reading glasses, if you use them
*Repair PDX will have a few of these spare items on hand to use for practice
Note: We may not have all the parts or skills to fix your machine; if this is the case, we will connect you with other resources to have your machine cared for!
