Sewing 103 - Pants Class

Want to learn the steps of construction of a commercial pattern and how to add elastic to anything? This Pants Class will walk you through the unique language and steps to follow a commercial pattern, adding pockets, elastic to the waistband, and making sure the hem is the right length just for your unique body.

This is a three part series where we meet on three times in one week.

or basic threading knowledge and seam allowance knowledge is required. Whether you're a beginner or have some sewing knowledge, this class is perfect for you. Don't miss out on this opportunity to expand your sewing repertoire and create your own fashionable pants.

We will be making these useful items under Ghost Vintage in Belltown on brand new sewing machines from Quality Sew and Vacuum, who we love for machine purchasings and repairs too.

Surfaces will be cleaned, there will be an air filter and masks could be required.

We have tools and materials for sale, should you need them, otherwise here is your supplies list.

Please bring these items, we recommend going to

• 3-4yds of pre-washed woven (non-stretch) material
• Matching polyester thread
• Pant Pattern in your size - We recommend these patterns as suggestions because they are simple: Simplicity 5314, 1446, 3971, 4101, 1563, 102, 6859, 1642, 8179 … anything along those lines and not too complicated. I will simplify the process if the pattern is complicated too.
• 1-2yds of ½”-1” elastic depending on your waist measurement.
