About this Event
Transform your fabric offcuts into a inished patchwork panel (small curtain) in this three-hour sewing workshop. Using a freeform approach, you’ll learn how to build a unique piece of cloth starting with a single remnant and working outward .
Throughout the workshop, you’ll sew with French seams, creating a clean, durable finish on both the front and back. This technique eliminates the need for lining or backing, resulting in a reversible, professional-quality panel.
During our time together, you will:
• Learn how to select and prepare fabric offcuts for cohesive patchwork
• Explore colour, scale, and texture combinations
• Sew and press French seams for a refined finish
• Build a balanced freeform panel step-by-step
By the end of the session, you’ll have started (or completed, depending on size) your own patchwork panel — ready to be turned into a curtain, cushion cover, bag, garment feature, or future sewing project.
This workshop is perfect for confident beginners and intermediate sewists.
What to Bring:
• Your own woven fabric scraps or offcuts (cotton, linen, light wool recommended)
We’ll also have a shared selection of fabric scraps available, so you can mix, match, and expand your palette.
