Turtle Mound Trail
The boardwalk here is generally considered an easy route, with stunning views of Mosquito Lagoon and the Atlantic. Turtle Mound has been a navigational aid for generations. It is an oyster shell midden rising 35 feet above sea level, and an archeological site dating back to 800AD.

**An entrance fee or Golden Eagle pass or similar is required to enter the park so carpool with friends if you can.
Meet and Park at the trailhead, about .5 mi past the entrance to the Park, just after the Visitors Center. Bring binoculars, water, bug spray, snacks, etc, and dress for the weather.

Oct - April, Experienced SEVAS members lead these walks twice monthly, on the second and fourth Tuesday, for both beginning and avid birders. The walks are free and open to the public. Each site offers different birds and a chance to visit a variety of natural areas. Meet at 8am and plan to spend about two hours.
