Wind Therapy is about getting out on two wheels, clearing your head, connecting with good people, and enjoying some incredible Colorado roads. This is not a race or performance ride. We ride at a relaxed pace, stop often, and make the miles as much about the experience as the destination.
We’re looking for up to six riders for this ride.
One fully sponsored rider position is available on one of Moto Recovery’s Triumph Scrambler 400s. We provide the motorcycle, luggage, camping equipment, and, if needed, a helmet, jacket, and gloves. Moto Recovery also covers that rider’s fuel, meals, camping, park and entry fees.
Want to bring your own motorcycle? We’d love to have you. Moto Recovery will cover your fuel and camping. Riders are responsible for their own meals, park/entry fees, personal expenses, and motorcycle/gear.
The Ride
Friday Evening: Meet up, go over the weekend and ride expectations, get the sponsored rider fitted and packed, and have dinner together.
Saturday: Breakfast at Dynamo Coffee before leaving Colorado Springs. We’ll take the paved back roads toward La Veta with stops at Skyline Drive and the Royal Gorge Bridge. After setting up camp, we’ll take a side trip through Cuchara and up to the top of Cordova Pass before returning to camp.
Sunday: We’ll follow sections of the TransAmerica Trail toward Nathrop, including graded dirt and gravel roads, with a stop at Bishop Castle. After camp is set, riders who are interested can make the trip up to St. Elmo.
Monday: Break camp, ride a section of the historic Midland Railroad route, stop for brunch, then follow dirt roads toward Woodland Park before finishing through Garden of the Gods and back at Dynamo Coffee in the early to mid-afternoon.
The dirt portions are not overly technical. Expect mostly graded dirt and gravel with occasional embedded rocks and changing mountain conditions.
Along the way, meals and stops give us a chance to slow things down and talk about the ride, life, mental clarity, and some simple tools for taking care of ourselves. Nothing clinical and no forced group therapy, just good conversation and a little food for thought between some great miles.
