Doors open approx 19:00, meeting to commence at 19:30.
Teas and coffees will be available for contribution towards the costs.
A raffle will be held and WE WILL BE HOLDING AN EGG SHOW - please bring along your eggs for the competition as usual!
This evening we will be holding our box show using photographs of the entries. Members who wish to take part on the evening should bring two recent photographs of a single bird.
Each member may only enter one bird.
The bird may be large or small, but should be categorised as poultry - ducks, geese, chickens, bantams, Guinea Fowl, or anything else in the family of poultry. Standard breeds, rare breeds or hybrids - all are welcome to take part.
The photographs should be printed on paper and have the birds details written on the back. It is suggested that a head shot and a side profile should be photographed.
We will collect together the photos at the start of the meeting placing them on the head table. The members will then be given a chance to view all the entries.
Then, each member who has entered a bird, will be invited to talk about their entry. You can say whatever you want about the bird - age, breed, type, breeding, name, quirks, favourite food, hobbies etc.
Following this session, the members will vote for their favourite. If the number of entries allow, a round robin format may be adopted.
After the trophy is presented to the winner, we will break for tea/coffee and the raffle will be drawn.
The usual Poultry Forum will be held afterwards, time allowing. The meeting should close around 22:00 hrs.
