About this Event
Watercolour Painting Course (4 Workshops) for Beginners
By popular request, I’m offering a short course of 4 watercolour classes for beginners.
The workshops in this course will run on WEDNESDAYS on the following dates:
- Wednesday 17th September, 9:30 - 12:30
- Wednesday 1st October, 9:30 - 12:30
- Wednesday 15th October, 9:30 - 12:30
- Wednesday 5th November, 9:30 - 12:30
No drawing or painting experience is needed, just a willingness to dive in, experiment and play, and explore the exciting world of watercolour painting! There is no right or wrong, so there’s zero chance of ‘failure’.
As adults, we are often very self-critical, hiding our sketches, and even apologising for something we perceive to be lacking. This course is about confidence building, having the freedom to create and to run with the paints. You will learn and practise a variety of techniques and then use them to create your own unique pieces of art.
Tea, coffee, soft drinks and cakes are available to order from the Fisherton Mill Gallery Café during the workshop, and there is a generous 20% discount available on the excellent lunch menu for afterwards.
All materials will be provided but if you have your own, please feel free to bring them.
If you have any questions regarding the course, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected], or find me on instagram @hksoriginals!
A little bit about me
Many members of my family have enjoyed creative pursuits. For my granny it was oil painting, for my grandpa it was woodwork and sculpture. My dad loved to draw and paint and my mum had endless projects on the go from sewing and knitting, to embroidery and rug making, from patchwork quilting to upholstery. Growing up, I tried many things and I loved learning new skills.
There followed a wonderful career in teaching, six years in the UK and thirty three years overseas, the vast majority of which was in Singapore. Now retired, I have returned to England and settled in Salisbury.
Three years ago, I began to paint with watercolours and I was smitten from the very start. Self-taught, I've sold paintings and cards at craft fairs, painted many one-off commissions for wedding presents and gifts, and opened my Etsy Shop.
Now I hope to inspire others to embrace their creative side and enjoy the wonderful world of watercolour!
