Sensual Shibari: Playing with "Fire"

Explore Shibari as a tool for intimate connection — platonic or romantic — through the lens of embodiment, surrender, and trust.

In this evening immersion, we’ll work with the element of Fire energy (no literal fire play), learning how to channel intensity, primal energy, and passion in ways that honor the nervous system and consent.

Together we’ll:

• Practice negotiation and communication skills that support clear boundaries and deep trust.
• Explore energetic elements — Water, Air, Earth, and Fire — as a framework for crafting scenes.
• Learn the basics of tracking our own and our rope partner’s nervous-system responses in real time.
• Practice consent, negotiation, creating a scene, playing with rope and "fire" energy in the scene.
• Understand aftercare, repair, and the importance of integration.

• You value consent, clarity, and conscious relating.
• You’re drawn to embodiment and nervous-system awareness as the foundation of play.
• You prefer connection and integrity over technical perfection.
• You’re excited to explore primal or “rougher” energy in ways that stay grounded and trauma-informed.
• You appreciate facilitators who foster a reverent learning environment and "brave space" where consent, communication, and safety is top priority.
• You come with curiosity, an open heart, and a willingness to honor your own and others’ limits.

Solo attendees, couples, and small groups are all welcome. Voyeurism and self-tie are always valid forms of participation.

• Focus: Connection, negotiation, pacing, attunement, and consent. Foundations of scene creation, safe tying skills and playing with fire energy in integrity. You'll get a variety of hands on exercises and demos to practice these themes.
• Respect the container: Practice self awareness and communicate needs to facilitators. Any participant engaging in disrespectful or disruptive behavior may be asked to leave with no refund.
• Accessibility: Seating is low to the ground on comfortable floor furniture. Contact us beforehand if you need mobility accommodations.
• Punctuality: Doors close promptly at the posted time to set the container and cultivate safety. Punctuality is required for participation.
• Consent culture: You are encouraged to participate only when it’s a full “yes” in your body. Changing your mind is always welcome.

Led by Straya Sun — Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, Certified Yoga Teacher, NLP & Hypnosis Trainer, Wheel of Consent–trained, Trauma-Trained Rigger, Wellness Coach and Intimacy Facilitator.

This is not a rope class solely focused on technical ties.
While we include foundational ties, the emphasis is on playing well with others- consent, communication, emotional attunement, and energetic play — the inner experience of connection rather than complex rope patterns. You will leave having the opportunity to create a scene and practice tying after spending time on each foundational component of scene creation.
