In celebration of Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, Maestro Dobel Tequila and The Lanesborough are proud to present a sensory tequila tasting experience. In Mexico, Dia de los Muertos celebrates those ancestors who have passed on in an all round joyful experience through food, dancing and most of all… Tequila.
Using all senses, guests will be challenged (and encouraged) to break down their misconceptions of agave, learn about white tequila and discover their new favourite sip.
Set within one of The Lanesborough's beautifully appointed private dining rooms dressed for this special occassion, guests will be welcomed with a cocktail created with Dobel Silver. Bar Manager of The Library Bar, Mickael Perron, will introduce mixology at The Lanesborough hotel's celebrated cocktail bar, before Tequila Ambassador Maria Modafferi gives an introduction to Maestro Dobel. Next, enjoy a sensory tasting of Maestro Dobel Silver, Maestro Dobel Diamante and Maestro Dobel 50 Cristalino, moving through three expressions of Maestro Dobel, inviting guests to see, touch, smell and hear elements to enhance their tasting experience. The event is concluded with a Q&A and a gift to take home.

Silver:
This slow process, superbly crafted silver tequila is distilled in traditional copper alembic stills and is double distilled to ensure purity. Perfect for sipping straight, chilled on the rocks or in a very clean cocktail.
Diamante:
A true testament to the exceptional oak casks that define the entire category. Crafted exclusively from American & Eastern European oak casks from the Balkan Region to deliver a complex a rich character.
50 Cristalino:
With the launch of Dobel 50, Maestro Dobel celebrate the 50th anniversary of founder Juan Dobel, by presenting a tequila that is aged in American and Eastern European oak barrels. This clear Cristalino Extra Anejo sparkles with steel and platinum reflections.

ABOUT MARIA MODAFFERI:
Tequila educator and Maestro Dobel brand ambassador Maria has 12 years of on trade experience, starting as a bartender in the south of Italy. Moving to London in 2014, she spent 5 years at 1 Lombard Street, before moving to The Gibson Bar as bar manager. She spent just under 4 years heading up the team which would become one of the Top 50 Bars in the world. With a wealth of experience behind the bar, she’s an expert mixologist and sommelier with a huge passion and depth of knowledge for agave spirits.
Guests are welcome to visit the hotel's Library Bar, Garden Room or The Lanesborough Grill after the event. Guests booking dinner at The Lanesborough Grill the evening of 1st November 2024 following this event will be offered a complimentary glass of Champagne.
