Senon Williams & Will Alexander: Jazz & Poetry

Join us at LORE in Leimert Park for an intimate evening of live jazz and poetry celebrating two powerful new literary works.

Artist Senon Williams will present his new book Scrapyard, joined by legendary poet Will Alexander, reading from Divine Blue Light (For John Coltrane): Pocket Poets Series No. 63. Together, their readings will be accompanied by live jazz, creating a layered and immersive experience of sound, language, and improvisation.

Live jazz performances by Joel Virgel and David Ralicke will provide an atmospheric score throughout the evening, honoring the deep connections between poetry and jazz traditions.

This free event invites readers, music lovers, and the Leimert Park community to gather in celebration of literature, improvisation, and Black artistic lineage.
