As he approaches sixteen years of ministry with us, and eight years since his last sabbatical, our parish will begin a Renewal Leave as we send Fr. Cramer into sabbatical on Sunday, April 26, 2026. There will be a special liturgy of blessing and sending at both services that day. After the second service, we will have a celebratory reception luncheon with a pot-luck taco bar (there are few things he likes more than tacos!) to give thanks for Fr. Cramer's ministry and celebrate the gift of this season of rest and renewal both for the Cramer family and for our parish. While our parish was unable to secure our hoped-for Lily Grant to support activities for the Cramer family to undertake, the Vestry is accepting donations for a "Rector's Renewal Fund" at http://sjegh.com/renewalsupport. This is not to cover Fr. Cramer's salary nor the cost of supply clergy during the Renewal Leave (those are covered by budgeted and set aside parish funds). Rather, this simply provides extra resources so the Cramer family can take advantage of this uninterrupted time together to engage in some special life-giving activities.
