About this Event
P LEASE NOTE THAT THE DURATION OF THIS EVENT SHOWN ABOVE IS ONLY APPROXIMATE AND CANNOT BE GUARANTEED; IT WILL DEPEND ON FACTORS SUCH AS THE WEATHER AND THE WALKING PACE OF THE GROUP.
Our Wednesday walks include a lunchtime pub stop. Requirements for meals from the pub menu are usually requested and ordered before the start of the walk by the leader. Walkers who prefer to take a picnic lunch are welcome to do so and the leader will have a place designated for this somewhere near the pub, in the village, or in the area where we are stopping for lunch.
It is very helpful for the walk leader to have prior knowledge of numbers that will be on this walk. We ask you to complete this very brief form to help with our planning of the walk to ensure that we can safely accommodate all who wish to join us. You will receive an automatic acknowledgement when you submit this form, and also a reminder of the details 2 days before the walk.
Walk leader: Celia Howell-Jones

Walk description:
This Wednesday walk starts at Selly Park Tavern. Hopping into Canon Hill Park we head south beside the River Rea then turn uphill towards Highbury Park. Here we aim for the Hall before taking a turn around the arboretum and duck pond. Exiting the park via the orchard, we are on roads to Moseley Hall hospital, taking a path through the grounds to the dove cote. We then turn towards Moseley Village and into Moseley private park. After exploring this little gem and its ponds, we head towards Canon Hill Park, weaving our way round boating ponds before exiting to arrive at Selly Park Tavern for lunch. If members desire a stroll after lunch there will be an opportunity to take a circuit round Holders Lane woods, no doubt to the tune of parakeets!
Expressions of Interest for this walk will close at 06.00 on Wednesday 21 January 2025 . After this, please email [email protected] to enquire about any late availability for the walk.
===================================================================
If you later find that you are unable to join us it would be helpful if you let us know by sending an email to [email protected] - this will be passed on to the walk leader and will prevent any delay to the start of the walk should the leader be waiting for you. Please note that some walks have a waiting list so tickets are NOT TRANSFERABLE; if you are unable to join us then please cancel your place to free it up for someone who may be on the waiting list rather than passing it to someone else.
