About this Event
Celebrate International Women’s Day by empowering yourself and supporting our community.
Join us for a beginner-friendly, women-only afternoon designed to build confidence both on and off the mats. Whether you’ve never touched a pair of boxing gloves or stepped foot on a mat, this seminar is for you. We are transforming our gym into a welcoming space to learn life-saving skills while supporting a great cause.
What to Expect:
- 45 Minutes of Muay Thai: Learn the "Art of Eight Limbs." We’ll cover basic striking, footwork, and how to use your knees and elbows for self-defense.
- 45 Minutes of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ): Transition to learn essential ground defense, escapes, and leverage-based techniques.
- Floral Wrap: Every participant will receive a beautiful, hand-crafted mini floral wrap to take home, curated by our favorite women-owned florist and wine bar, Cork & Stem.
100% of the profits from this event will be donated directly to a local women's shelter, providing support and resources for survivors of domestic abuse in San Diego.
Instructors:
Steph is a four time amateur Muay Thai champion, coach at Double Kick, and mom. Her energy is infectious on and off the mats and makes the mats feel like home for every beginner. Sophia is a Second Degree Black Belt and BJJ Champion. As a coach and mom, Sophia specializes in making ground defense accessible and empowering for every woman.

- Experience Level: Absolute Zero! This is curated specifically for beginners.
- Attire: Comfortable workout clothes.
- Capacity: Strictly limited to 30 participants to ensure quality instruction. Tickets are nonrefundable but can be transferred to a friend!
- Age Limit: 16 and up with parent or guardian under 18.
