About this Event
Self-Growth Workshop
Self-Compassion - be your own best ally
So often we find our hearts full of love and kindness for those around us—but when it comes to ourselves, we slip into harsh self-judgment. Self-compassion is a skill where we can learn to support and cheer ourselves on in the same way we do for others.
This experiential workshop blends psychological science with practical tools you can use immediately. Through reflective writing, guided meditation, and group sharing, you'll learn how to be a better ally to yourself—especially during challenging moments.
What You'll Learn:
- The three components: self-kindness, common humanity, and mindfulness
- The psychological science behind why self-compassion works
- Regulating skills to offer ourselves kind encouragement
What You'll Practice:
- Reflective writing exercises
- Guided self-compassion meditation
- Simple techniques you can use anywhere
Who It's For: Anyone curious about being a better ally to themselves. No experience needed—just curiosity and openness.
MEET YOUR GUIDE:
Bibi is a mindful self-compassion teacher and wellness coach with an MSc in Psychology and BSc in Biochemistry. She is currently a researcher at UBC and founder of Rest Day Mood—a wellness community of guided self-care and reflection in Vancouver, BC.
She has 5 years of experience in psychological services, including working in psychiatric hospitals and complex mental health teams as an assistant psychologist, delivering evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioural therapies to support people with life-threatening mental health difficulties. These tools were designed to save lives—and they can be applied to any behavioural change, for anyone.
As a competitive bodybuilder, B embodies the practices she teaches—using the same skills from her clinical therapeutic work for her own transformation while empowering others with personal development and mindset skills to grow and thrive.
Rest Day Mood creates empowering spaces for reflection and growth, through teaching psychological tools to connect with your purpose - from nervous system regulation to self-compassion practices.
Workshops blend therapy-informed techniques, connecting with others, and shared insights over rest, growth, and self-growth.
