Reimagining Self Care, Decolonizing Wellness and Natural Wine: An evening with Fariha Róisín
Join poet and writer Fariha Róisín for an evening of reflection and discussion based on her book Who Is Wellness For? Hosted at a natural wine bar, this workshop will explore the commodification of wellness, systemic inequities, and how to foster inclusive, community-focused approaches. Through guided questions, a journaling exercise, and thoughtful conversation, we’ll collectively reflect on what decolonizing wellness can look like—all while enjoying natural wines and light snacks.

Blending personal storytelling with activism, Fariha explores themes of identity, queerness, belonging and radical self-care, while inspiring collective imagination of new futures.

Fariha is a multidisciplinary artist, born in Ontario, Canada. She was raised in Sydney, Australia, and is based in Los Angeles, California. As a Muslim queer Bangladeshi, she is interested in the margins, liminality, otherness, and the mercurial nature of being. Her work has pioneered a refreshing and renewed conversation about wellness, contemporary Islam, and queer identities, and has appeared in the New York Times, Al Jazeera, The Guardian, Village Voice, and others.

About the facilitators and co-hosts:
Gabriela: Gabriela is a visionary cultural curator with an insatiable curiosity and a deep love for books, known for crafting dynamic gatherings. Through her platform, Gabs Away, she creatively pairs food, wine, and engaging themes to spark cross-cultural dialogue and foster connections and empathy through personal narratives.
Roshni Kavate: Roshni is a multidisciplinary artist, passionate cook, and recognized grief expert. As the co-founder of the innovative wellness platform Marigolde, she creates transformative, participatory, and immersive experiences that foster deep emotional connection and nourishing experiences through journaling, storytelling, and food.
