On Sunday, May 31, the William Allen White Community Partnership/Red Rocks State Historic Site will host Marion County Record publisher Eric Meyer, who will present “SEIZED! The Marion County Record Raid.” Who can forget the unprecedented raid on the newspaper just down the road from Emporia in Marion, Kan.? The August 2023 raid, fueled by small-town animosities and later deemed both illegal and illegitimate, garnered international attention that spotlighted the precarious position of freedom of the press in today’s United States.
This riveting FREE program will be held at the William Lindsay White Civic Auditorium Little Theatre (on the second floor), 111 E. Sixth Ave., at 2:00 p.m.
