About this Event
Experience the great outdoor recreation opportunities that Midland has to offer! Join Little Forks Conservancy and the Friends of the Pere-Marquette Rail Trail for a bike ride at the Pere Marquette Rail-Trail from Emerson Park to Little Forks Conservancy's Averill Preserve (5 miles). At the preserve, attendees will hike the 1.3 miles of trail. On the return bike trip, the group will stop at Cottage Creamery - a free, small ice cream cone will be provided for participants!
What to Bring:
Proper attire for biking and hiking - including a bike helmet and closed-toed shoes. Attendees must bring their own bike.
Agenda & Route:
The bike ride begins at Emerson Park and travels to Averill Preserve - along the Pere-Marquette Rail Trail until you reach the Averill Preserve trailhead - approximately 5 miles one way.
Attendees will hike 1.3 miles of trail at the Averill Preserve learning more about this nature preserve and how it's protected.
Following the hike, attendees will bike to Cottage Creamery on the Pere-Marquette Rail Trail (about 3 miles) for a social hour and will receive a voucher for ice cream!
Attendees will head back to Emerson Park whenever is most convenient for them following the social hour.
Parking & Directions:
The bike ride will begin at Emerson Park, where attendees will meet at pavilion Shelter D before beginning the bike ride on the Pere Marquette Rail-Trail to the Averill Preserve. The entrance to Emerson Park is located at the intersection of W Main Street and Orchard Drive.
