Seattle Latinx Bookclub - Undead Girl Gang
About this Event
This month, we'll be discussing the YA paranormal mystery, Undead Girl Gang. When girls start dying under suspicious circumstances, a teen witch, Mila Flores, raises the dead to figure out who done it and get revenge. As always, our number one priority is creating comunidad. So please feel free to attend even if you didn't get a chance to finish the book this month.

About the Book
When Mila Flores' only friend — and fellow Wicca practitioner — Riley dies under suspicious circumstances, she knows it wasn't suicide like everyone thinks. That just doesn't make sense, especially not right after the equally suspicious double suicide of two of the most popular girls at school. She knows in her bones that there's a killer to catch, and when no one is interested in listening to her, she uses a mysterious grimoire to bring back the only people who care enough to help: the dead girls themselves.
Unfortunately, Riley, June, and Dayton have no recollection of their murders. Mila tries to rally them into a team of undead detectives, but they all have other unfinished business. Mila must wrangle the distracted group of undead teens and work fast to discover their murderer . . . before the killer strikes again.
About the Author
Lily Anderson is the Printz-Honor winning author of several novels, including SCOUT’S HONOR, UNDEAD GIRL GANG, and THE ONLY THING WORSE THAN ME IS YOU. A former school librarian, she is deeply devoted to Shakespeare, fairy tales, and podcasts. Somewhere in Northern California, she is expressing strong opinions on musical theater.
"The Less Formal Version: I’m Lily, the curly haired gal in the pictures. I grew up in the hilly slice of suburbs between Sacramento and San Francisco not cool enough to be the Bay Area. After searching for books about other mixed race kids who talk too fast and care too much, I decided to start writing my own. As a woman of Afro-Puerto Rican descent, representing a diverse world isn’t a trend for me. It’s my greatest joy."
