Seasonal Poets is a quarterly gathering of poetic talent, organised by Gina Mercer, Anne Collins, and Irene McGuire, and has been running for ten years. At each session, three different poets are invited to share their work.The Seasonal Poets program for the Autumn reading will feature Jane Williams, Liz Winfield and Susan Austin.
Jane Williams is a poet of gentle, compassionate insight. To hear her read is to be immersed in fierce and thought-full understandings of the overlooked. Her 10th collection of poems: afterimage - poems from the family album and elsewhere is imminent.
Liz Winfield is a stalwart of Tasmania’s poetry community. She’s dedicated decades to running readings and workshops, as well as publishing 4 luminous and moving collections. Her soon-to-be-released book is: In my heart, a rainforest.
Susan Austin is a poet, eco-socialist activist and mental health occupational therapist. She’s published 3 poetry collections including a verse novel exploring one couple’s infertility saga. Her work is dynamic, poignant, and tellingly funny.
Tickets are $12, and include a glass of wine or non-alcoholic drink.
