About this Event
This four-part seasonal series highlights herbs, food as medicine, and self-tending practices that promote vitality throughout the year. Together, we will explore the unique gifts and challenges of each season, learning how to align our bodies with the regenerative current of nature within the cycle of the seasons.
In each class, you’ll be introduced to plants that can become trusted allies in health and resilience, and you’ll engage in hands-on preparation of herbal remedies, nourishing seasonal recipes, culinary uses of healing herbs, and simple plant-based rituals for self-care. Class time will be a combination of lecture, demonstration, tastings, and experiential learning.
Spring Session: The Return of Abundance
This class focuses on the return of Spring and all its green vitality. This session will be especially hands-on, with less lecture and a stronger focus on practical medicine-making and seasonal nourishment. We’ll work with deeply nourishing and cleansing plants through recipes such as:
- Nourishing Nettle Herbal Tea Blend
- Wild Weeds Pesto
- Dandelion Detox “Mocha”
- Quick Pickled Burdock Root
- Warming Bitters
- Green Goddess Dressing with infused vinegar
- Turmeric Congee
Participants will be able to take home ingredients for the tea blends. All other preparations will be made together in class in small groups. We will sample ingredients and enjoy a small bowl of congee topped with pesto and pickles during class.
