Seascale Light Works 2026

Light Works is back for 2026, bringing light, creativity, music, movement and community together for two special winter celebrations in Workington and Seascale.
This year, we’re going bigger, brighter and more participatory, with four brilliant artists working alongside local schools, community groups, families and residents to create the festival together.
From giant wicker creations and illuminated installations to music, dance and joyful parades, there are lots of ways to get involved. You don’t need to be an artist, musician or dancer – just bring your ideas, your imagination and your enthusiasm!
Over the coming months, our artists will be hosting workshops and working with communities across West Cumbria to create work that will come alive during Light Works 2026. So come along, get creative and help us make this year’s celebrations something truly special.
With thanks for Mid Copeland GDF Community Partnership for supporting this event.
