In this six-week class, students will explore the versatility of slab construction to create both functional dishware and imaginative ceramic sculpture. Through hands-on instruction, you’ll learn techniques like rolling and compressing slabs, joining pieces securely, and experimenting with texture and surface design.
The course will begin with foundational projects such as plates, mugs, or serving trays, then move into more creative territory with sculptural forms that play with narrative, abstraction, or whimsy. Whether you're interested in making a beautiful set of dishes or a one-of-a-kind art piece, this class will give you the tools to bring your vision to life.
