About this Event

Lights, camera, action

We are delighted to invite you to our very first Fringe Film Festival.

On Saturday 3 October we are opening the doors of our Prep School to families from across Streatham, Clapham and our wonderful local community for a morning of film-making, story-telling and performance. The event is free and everyone is welcome.

Girls and boys aged 3 to 11 will have the chance to build a set, write a script, compose a soundtrack, bring a character to life on stage, or animate a model frame-by-frame, all alongside our specialist teachers and our own pupils.

Three things to know before you book:

1. Each child must be accompanied by an adult throughout the morning. This is not a drop-off event. Every activity is designed for grown-ups and children to do together.

2. There is no need to choose activities in advance. We allocate them when you arrive, so that each family can enjoy their morning side by side.

3. The morning runs as one programme, from 09:00 to 13:00, and we do hope you will join us for all of it.

For girls and boys aged 7 to 11

Our workshops include:

  • Stop-motion animation
  • Bringing characters to life
  • Composing a music score
  • Script writing
  • Prop and set design

Your child will take part in three of these workshops across the morning. We allocate them when you arrive, so there is nothing to choose in advance, and an adult will be alongside your child in every one.

For our youngest visitors, aged 3 to 6

Our 3 to 6 year olds have a carousel of their own, a lively run of short, hands-on activities including puppet making, movie reel illustrations, prop games, drama, dance and script-to-screen sessions. There is nothing to choose, as they will have a go at everything.

Booking

One booking covers your whole family, so please do not book each child separately.

When you register we will ask how many children are coming and their ages, together with how many adults will be with them. This helps us to plan the activities and ensure the morning runs smoothly for everyone.

Do bring babies, toddlers and older brothers and sisters along too, and please include them in your numbers so that we know how many of you to expect. Please remember that each child must be accompanied by an adult throughout, so do count yourself and any other grown-ups in your numbers.

Our activities are designed for grown-ups and children to enjoy together, so please do plan to stay alongside your child throughout the morning. It is by far the best part.

Booking closes on Friday 2 October.
